Continuing Education
All optometrists licensed to practice optometry in North Dakota are required to certify fifty hours of continuing education in each three year period (the current period is from 1/1/2003-12/31/2006). Of these 50 hours, only twelve may be in the area of practice management, and only ten can be by coorespondence. In addition, one half of all CE, regardless of license status, must be in the area of Therapeutic Treatment and Management of Eye Disease.

Course Information
The North Dakota Board of Optometry will only approve courses offered within the state of North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Montana. All other courses must be approved by COPE, which is a course evaluating commitee set up by the IAB ( International Board of Examiners in Optometry).
